Special Quality

Studying International Relations at Queen Mary is a unique experience due to its diverse student body. Michael notes that Queen Mary’s student body is filled with students from a wide range of backgrounds. For example, Michael recalls a class discussion he had regarding Christopher Columbus. The discussion revolved around a debate concerning educating children in the US about the atrocities Christopher Columbus committed. This caused debate within the classroom primarily between the Americans and Non-Americans. Michael felt that this was an impressionable experience as this problem was viewed from perspectives and viewpoints. 

Preparation for Work

Queen Mary provides an amazing learning environment in terms of research to help students prepare for the professional world. Firstly, Queen Mary lives up to its reputation as a Russell Group uni by priming their students to become accustomed to research. Michael shares that Queen Mary’s assignments are very research intensive. For example, in order to complete his assignment on US presidential campaigns, Michael had to use multiple chapters from 5 different academic books. This was a complete 180 to his highschool life where information from the internet was sufficient. This allowed Michael to adapt to academic research which is crucial in the professional world. Also, Michael notes that Queen Mary is extremely accommodating towards their students’ research. Michael rarely has to search for sources on his own as Queen Mary provides the majority for him. Queen Mary does this in a complete and efficient way as it is all accessible online on their website and is presented in a well-organised manner.

Intensity

Queen Mary’s International Relations program is manageable and can become a fun experience. Firstly, Michael expresses his delight towards his cohort which has proven to be helpful at any given time. This is shown in their willingness to cooperate when studying and being supportive of each other. Also, Michael has proven that managing a healthy personal and academic life is very doable. He notes that after finishing his schoolwork there is plenty of free time and that well executed time management can lead to an enjoyable year.

Overall, Queen Mary can offer an insightful and enjoyable educational experience. They provide an international forum of discussion within their classroom and allows students breathing room in between their studies.

Imperial’s main strength is its academic superiority. Imperial’s academic superiority is evident in its combining of world-class lecturers with a practical-pedagogy to mold the engineers of tomorrow. For example, Imperial chemical engineers are pioneers in terms of carbon capture pilot plants. One notable individual is Colin Hale, the manager of the Imperial carbon capture pilot plant, and one of the leading experts on this matter. He uses his advanced knowledge of this scientific marvel to teach his students how to analyse the system and parts to be able to understand its application. This is evidence of students having access to valuable experience while still in uni and a secure future. It also shows that Imperial promotes a multi-disciplinary as this varied exposure they give to students gives them a chance to explore and/or combine different industries.

Intensity

Imperial’s intensity level is very unique as Juan notes that educational mutualism amongst students is prevalent within the uni. Firstly, Imperial is able to build this symbiotic environment due to its emphasis on group projects. This is useful in promoting constructive competition within its culture and as a result students do not hesitate to complement each other in terms of subjects strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, Juan shares that Imperial demands a rather intense self-study culture. His personal method of study time calculation is that 1 hour of lectures should be supplemented with 3 hours of self-study. This formula is used by Juan to factor in 3-4 hours of lectures a day with an additional hour of personal tutoring. For that reason, most of Juan’s time is spent in the library and he firmly believes that self-studying is the key to success at Imperial. 

Overall, Imperial is the best choice for engineering in London and arguably the world. Although it is extremely difficult to be admitted, when a person becomes a student of Imperial they can expect a harmony of high-quality education, bottomless opportunities and exposure to the wider professional world and supportive community of students and teaching staff.

Studying Law will expose students to a subject that encompasses various different facets of human life in fields such as finance law or family law. These legal equivalents of normal human life should be viewed with the presence of humanity as matters regarding the subject ultimately determine people’s welfare.

Although its reputation may not be as stellar as UCL or Oxbridge in the UK, Queen Mary’s Law school deserves to be regarded amongst the best law schools in London. Special Quality

Coincidentally, Queen Mary’s main strength also ties in its preparing students for work. Firstly, the university has strong connections with the professional legal world. This can be shown within the Queen Mary law club Zania participates in as Head of Marketing which is partnered with 50+ law firms and 10+ banks and are very helpful in networking and securing a profession overall. 

Also, Queen Mary provides many placement opportunities at law firms’ pro bono offices. Last year, Zania did her placement at Dentons Pro Bono Clinic as a pro bono assistant. Dentons is a highly regarded law firm and this shows Queen Mary’s ability to assist students in putting theory into practice and increasing the value of a student’s accumulated qualifications. To further add to that, this year she will be working at Queen Mary’s Legal Advice Centre as a legal advisor. This shows that Queen Mary is able to guarantee opportunities as Zania was able to secure one in her second year and the quality of those opportunities are consistently of high quality. Overall, Queen Mary shows great strength in offering students opportunities to learn beyond the classroom which helps them enhance their theoretical understanding, practical capabilities and attractiveness as prospective employees.

Intensity

Queen Mary Law School is quite intense as most law schools are. Firstly, the competition between students is quite intense depending on a student’s career choice. For Zania, Queen Mary Law School is quite intense as she is pursuing a career in commercial law. On the other hand, aspiring to become a solicitor comes with less intense competitiveness. Even so, Zania claims to have found good friends within this competitive setting and believes that this atmosphere is more constructive than destructive.

Also, due to the nature of the legal professional world, a career as a lawyer requires a 2:1. In Queen Mary it is relatively difficult to achieve, but doable. 

However, studying law at Queen Mary is very reasonable due to its several flexibilities. First, Queen Mary Law School offers Law in combination with another course such as Business or Politics. This is beneficial to students who are not as committed to the intensity of studying law on its own or who simply wish to branch out and explore other fields of study.

Also, Queen Mary provides excellent student support. Queen Mary provides a wide range of support from academic to personal from their academic advisors, tutors, head of faculty, mental therapist and career advisor.

Moving on, Queen Mary usually requires 6-10 hours of commitment every uni day and 12-17 once exams start. Although this may seem quite intense it still leaves students with time to indulge in extracurricular activities such as the aforementioned placements or competitions in mooting and negotiations. 

Overall, Queen Mary Law School is a very good practical university that focuses its strengths outside the classroom coupled with strong support from the university. Even so, grades should be maintained as the legal professional world is cutthroat in its recruitment. So if your preference is a more practical and supportive academic experience then Queen Mary is definitely a good shout.

Memutuskan untuk masuk MBA merupakan komitmen yang besar. Kamu perlu tahu semua kriteria yang dibutuhkan untuk masuk MBA sebelum memulai proses pendaftaran. Persyaratan pada semua sekolah bisnis berbeda-beda, tapi pada umumnya kamu memerlukan:

  • Minimal 3 tahun pengalaman kerja tetap
  • Gelar sarjana atau yang setara
  • Skor IELTS setidaknya 6.0-6.5

 

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)

Banyak sekolah bisnis yang mengharuskan mahasiswa untuk mengikuti GMAT. GMAT menguji kemampuan dalam:

  • Penulisan analitis: analisis argumen
  • Penalaran terpadu: analisis grafik dan tabel
  • Kemampuan kuantitatif: kemampuan untuk membaca teks dan menyelesaikan masalah
  • Verbal: penalaran kritis dan koreksi kalimat
