London Series: Events at Unite Students (English)

Although Unite Students Blithehale Court can be inhabited by remaining solitary, the accommodation provides activities for students to get together and get to know each other. These events might not be as frequent as university accommodations, but can also prove to be extremely enjoyable experiences.

Weekly:

The accommodation provides a variety of events and does an amazing job advertising them. However, the parties are by far the most popular one yet since they provide the food and drinks for the event. A get together with free food and drinks plus enjoyable company can make for an amazing experience for anys students. Also, it is a great example that shows the accommodation cares about its students which is a soothing thing to understand. Furthermore, there are parties being made for every special event. It serves a different themes in terms of the special events being celebrated which keeps the parties varied and continuously exciting.

Beasiswa Clarendon University of Oxford Gelar S2, S3

Clarendon Scholarship. Program beasiswa pascasarjana ini rutin ditawarkan University of Oxford, UK. Beasiswa Clarendon merupakan salah satu beasiswa unggulan University of Oxford dan memiliki banyak peminat. Beasiswa ini bersifat penuh yang mendanai kebutuhan studi untuk jenjang S2 atau S3 di universitas terbaik Inggris itu. Setiap tahun sekitar 130 kursi disediakan dan ditujukan bagi pelamar internasional yang berminat.

Selain menanggung biaya penuh perkuliahan, beasiswa Clarendon 2021 – 2022 juga menyediakan biaya hidup selama menjalani studi di Inggris. Tahun akademik sebelumnya, tunjangan biaya hidup yang diberikan sekurangnya £15.009. Durasi beasiswa berdasarkan lamanya masa perkuliahan yang diambil. Seleksi memang ketat. Salah satu pertimbangannya adalah capaian prestasi akademik harus sangat memuaskan. Namun, peluang ini terbuka bagi siapa saja, termasuk pelamar Indonesia.

Beasiswa Clarendon dibuka untuk semua jurusan di University of Oxford, baik penuh waktu maupun paruhan meliputi jenjang master berbagai gelar (MSt, MSc, BCL/Mjur, MBA, MFE, MPhil, BPhil, MSc by Research, MTh, MPP)  dan jenjang doktoral (DPhil).

Kriteria:
1. Memiliki catatan akademik yang cemerlang: IPK minimal 3,7 untuk skala 4.00. Jika tersedia, lampirkan juga bukti penghargaan dari universitas, informasi posisi Anda, atau publikasi yang dimiliki.
2. Cakap dalam bidang studi yang diusulkan. Penilaian dilihat dari referensi akademik, proposal penelitian, bakat dalam penelitian, dan kontribusi signifikan yang kemungkinan diberikan pada bidang studi.
3. Motivasi. Penilaian dilihat dari bukti komitmen pemohon pada program kuliah yang diusulkan. Serta dari hasil evaluasi personal statement dan rekomendasi.

Pendaftaran: 
Pengajuan beasiswa Clarendon cukup mudah. Pelamar hanya diminta untuk mendaftar kuliah di program pascasarjana University of Oxford untuk tahun akademik 2021 – 2022. Secara otomatis, aplikasi yang diajukan tersebut akan dipertimbangkan untuk beasiswa Clarendon. Tidak perlu ada aplikasi terpisah atau khusus untuk pendaftaran beasiswa. Agar dapat dipertimbangkan, siapkan aplikasi sebaik mungkin.

Batas terakhir pendaftaran adalah Januari 2021. Lebih rinci bisa disimak di masing-masing program yang dipilih. Sementara, untuk program Executive MBA deadline berakhir sekitar September.

Proses seleksi:
Ketika Anda mendaftar untuk studi pascasarjana di Universitas Oxford, aplikasi Anda akan dipertimbangkan oleh akademisi yang bekerja di bidang studi yang Anda lamar. Mereka akan memutuskan apakah bisa atau tidak Anda memperoleh tawaran tempat (offer) untuk belajar di Universitas Oxford. Mereka juga akan memutuskan apakah Anda bisa diusulkan untuk menerima beasiswa Clarendon.

Setelah panelis menetapkan nama para nominasi beasiswa, daftar tersebut akan dikirim ke Clarendon Fund Administrator, yang nantinya memutuskan nama yang berhak memperoleh beasiswa. Kandidat terpilih akan mendapat pemberitahuan ini melalui email pada awal April 2021.

London Series: Social Life at Unite Students (English)

Living at Unite Studetns Blithehale Court will come with a varied amount of socialising as there are rooms that students can inhabit individually. However, students that live with flatmates will have to cope with daily interactions and the situation of communal living to be able to have an enjoyable experience.

Exposure:

Students that live with flatmates will be exposed to social interactions in various different situations. Firstly, when cooking students will have to do so in the communal area of the flat’s shared kitchen. Students should remember to always respect their flatmates when cooking so as to not bother them in the middle of the night or cause an accident that leaves an unfortunate odour lingering in the shared kitchen. Second, the communal space within the flat’s can become an essential part of living with flatmates. The communal space should be utilised to its maximum potential as it is a great opportunity to create bonds that will last a lifetime. Lastly, the common area in the lobby will be a place where students will be exposed to each other. This area is not necessarily a place where students will spend much time at but it is nice to be able to friendlily greet people on a daily basis.

Fortunately, students will have their own bathrooms to avoid untimely meetings in dicey circumstances!

Interaction:

Having good flatmates will make anyone’s daily life so much easier as not only they able to bond and became close friends, but also help each other in the chores as well. Finding this balance between friendship and responsibility will be crucial in living with flatmates and is overall a very teaching experience. Also, the people at Unite Students Blithehall Court are generally really friendly. They would he understanding and would help if they can do something that i struggle on doing.

Beasiswa di Hong Kong 2021 – 2022 (HKPFS)

Ada beasiswa menarik yang ditawarkan Research Grants Council (RGC) Hong Kong bagi peminat internasional yang ingin melanjutkan S3 di universitas-universitas Hong Kong. Programnya Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS). Beasiswa ini menyediakan pendanaan studi di 8 universitas terbaik Hong Kong selama periode PhD, yakni 3 tahun. 


Beasiswa HKPFS terbuka bagi Anda yang ingin melanjutkan studi pada bidang sains, kedokteran, teknik, teknologi, humaniora, ilmu sosial, dan bisnis. Per tahunnya, beasiswa diberikan sebesar HK$ 319.200 (sekitar USD 40.900) serta tunjangan perjalanan penelitian dan konferensi per tahun sebesar HK$ 13.300 (sekitar USD 1.700). 


Yang menarik, kuota beasiswa HKPFS 2021 – 2022 jumlahnya cukup besar, yakni 300 kursi disediakan tahun ini. Bagi penerima beasiswa yang membutuhkan biaya lebih dari tiga tahun untuk menyelesaikan studi PhD mereka, biaya tambahan dapat diberikan oleh universitas yang dipilih. 
Persyaratan: 

1. Pelamar mendaftar ke program PhD penuh waktu di salah satu universitas berikut:

2. Pelamar harus menunjukkan kualitas yang luar biasa melalui prestasi akademik, kemampuan penelitian / potensial, komunikasi dan keterampilan antar individu, dan kemampuan kepemimpinan.

Pendaftaran: Pelamar yang memenuhi syarat beasiswa HKPFS terlebih dahulu mengisi formulir aplikasi inisial secara online HKPFSES (Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme Electronic System) untuk memperoleh nomor referensi HKPFSES. Di formulir tersebut, pelamar dapat memilih hingga dua program studi di salah satu atau dua perguruan tinggi yang tertera untuk tahun akademik 202 – 2022. Deadline pendaftaran beasiswa HKPFS ini adalah 1 Desember 2020 pukul 12.00 waktu Hong Kong.


Nomor referensi HKPFSES yang telah diperoleh tersebut kemudian dicantumkan ketika mendaftar ke program PhD di universitas yang telah dipilih. Jika tidak memuatnya, pelamar tidak akan dipertimbangkan untuk beasiswa HKPFS. 
Pendaftaran ke universitas, termasuk persyaratan dan aplikasi yang diperlukan silakan merujuk ke website masing-masing universitas atau program yang dilamar. Sebab, kemungkinan mereka menetapkan aturan yang berbeda. Pendaftaran beasiswa HKPFS tidak dikenakan biaya, namun pendaftaran ke universitas khususnya pada program PhD yang dilamar bisa saja ada biaya yang diminta. 

Perlu dipahami, deadline pendaftaran ke universitas Hong Kong berbeda-beda, sehingga sebaiknya pelamar mengisi formulir aplikasi inisial lebih cepat sebelum mendaftar ke universitas. Berikut deadline masing-masing universitas dan alamat website:

London Series: Food at Unite Students

Living at Unite Students a resident must be able to either cook for themselves or be wealthy enough to order delivery everyday. Fortunately, Unite Students facilitates both cooking and eating out/delivering in well due to its well built kitchens and strategic location.

Cooking:

Cooking at Unite Students Blithehale Court is a relatively relaxed experienced due to the space and equipment provided by the accommodation. The kitchen is well-equipped with equipment such as a stove, oven, microwave and fridge. This allows for students to comfortably store their groceries and cook them in almost anyway possible. Additionally, due to the large space allocated within the communal space of shared kitchens, students will be able to cook comfortably without having to worry about bumping into appliances and potentially triggering the fire alarm. However, it is worth noting that residents will probably have to buy their own cooking utensils.

Eating Out/ Delivering In:

The area surrounding Unite Students Blithehale Court is surrounded by grocery stores and restaurants. For example, there is a Sainsbury’s supermarket about 10 minutes on foot and a smaller Sainsbury’s just around the corner. There are a multitude of restaurants in the area but most of it was fast food (Pizza Hut, Nando’s, Chinese takeaways) although there were some pubs that served food nearby. Also, Shoreditch is in walking distance with a good variety of restaurants.

London Series: Facilities at Unite Students (English)

Rooms:

Rooms at Unite Students are very cheap in terms of private accommodation but are also of high-quality. Besides that, students are given several essential services free of charge when taking residence at Unite Students.

The individual room at any of the Unite Students rooms available for selection are relatively spacious. The room can fit a bed, wardrobe, individual bathroom and plenty of space for other objects such as desks. Due to the space available, the rooms are quite comfortable as residents are able to store a relatively large amount of items and still have space to move comfortably.

The common rooms within the shared flats are very comfortable. They are usually combined with the question but still leave plenty of space to house a plentiful common area. Firstly, the kitchens are well-equipped and spacious so cooking will be a relatively relaxed experience. Also, the common space is usually made up of an area occupied by a sofa large enough to seat several people. This area usually makes up for an incredible hangout spot with flatmates and friends when going out is just too much of a chore!

Common Room:

The Common Room is relatively well-equipped with several different facilities. Firstly, a concierge is available which assists residents in receiving packages and other services. Second, there are recreational equipment available such as ping pong and fussball to help facilitate an enjoyable day at the flat. Also, there are vending machines for anyone looking to have a quick drink or bite.

Rooftop:

The rooftop at Unite Students is a very nice addition to the entire accommodation. This area provides a spacious platform for various activities such as barbecuing or any other social gathering. Also, this rooftop area can become a secluded haven for anyone looking to detach themselves from their daily life and enjoy the breeze while overlooking London’s stunning sights in the distance. Though be warned as it is London, anyone making use of the rooftop at night should be well-covered in layers of clothes to stay warm!

Courtyard:

The courtyard consists of an open space in the middle of the accommodation with several seating spots. It is a very good option for anyone looking to hang out with friends while enjoying the outside. Also, it adds a hint of aesthetic value to the entire accommodation.

Laundry Room:

The Laundry Room serves its function well and students are quite satisfied with it. Although there was a year where the washing machines experienced some technical difficulties so the halls decided to compensate the students by lowering the prices.
